A catch-all e-mailbox is one that collects all the emails sent to invalid email addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but someone misspells it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Only one single mailbox per domain name can have this feature activated and in this way you will never miss messages because the other party has an obsolete email address or has made a mistake. The negative aspect of using a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving lots of junk email messages, but this issue can be rectified by using an anti-spam filtering solution. It is also essential to keep in mind that a mailbox with an active catch-all functionality cannot redirect incoming emails to a third-party email address.
Catch-all Emails in Cloud Website Hosting
If you’ve got a cloud website hosting plan with us and you would like to activate the catch-all feature for a specific mailbox that you’ve got in the web hosting account, it’ll take literally only one single click of the mouse in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to do this. A catch-all button is available on the right side of each email address that you have created under any domain name hosted in the account. You can choose one single email address per domain name by clicking the respective button. This will enable the feature right away, so all email messages sent to miswritten addresses will be delivered there. Clicking on the button once more will deactivate the catch-all feature. In case you have enabled email forwarding, our system will exhibit a cautionary note and you won’t be able to activate the catch-all feature unless you disable the forwarding or you can simply select some other mailbox to be the catch-all one.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
The catch-all functionality can be enabled easily in case you’ve got a semi-dedicated server plan with our company. All the email addresses that you have created with the domain names hosted in the account will be displayed in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you will find a small icon conveniently situated directly next to each one of them. With just one click, you can enable or disable the catch-all option for any mailbox of your desire as long as there isn't another mailbox under that same domain name with the option already enabled and there isn't active email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on an email address and enable this option using the menu that will come into sight. If any of the conditions for creating a catch-all mailbox is not matched, our system will let you know, but will not deactivate or replace anything automatically.
